YOU Launches in Hillingdon
YOU Hillingdon at The Chimes
Hot on the heels of the fabulous launch event at Buckingham Palace, representatives from all the YOU partners in Hillingdon came together at The Chimes Shopping Centre to celebrate the local launch of the YOU London. The aim of the ‘get-together’ was to showcase the fantastic work already being done, week in week out, by the youth organisations in Hillingdon and to encourage more adults to give up some of their spare time to volunteer with the various youth groups.
PC Doug Dewey who organised the event and who also runs the Volunteer Police Cadets in Hillingdon said “It was great to see everyone together, all wearing their individual uniforms. It makes you realise just how many young people do something constructive with their spare time. Young People are often seen in a bad light and this helps to highlight some of the good things that the youth in the borough get up to”.
