LaSER Media Team nominated for a “MACA” for their work with YOU London
The “MACAs” – Media & Communications Awards are the Air Cadets own version of the Oscars and are presented annually by headquarters Air Cadets as a way of recognising media efforts by members of the organisation.
This year, London & South East Region was nominated for a MACA in the category for Best Air Cadet Project over the course of last year for the work they have undertaken in supporting YOU London. YOU London is a unique partnership of the oldest, largest and most experienced uniformed youth organisations in Greater London working together to maximise the opportunities they offer to young people and volunteers alike.
The nominations and winners were selected by the Head and Deputy Head of Media Communications based at RAF Cranwell with input from Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Ian Stewart.
The team came a very credible second – losing out to Flt Lt Adam Lynch for his work setting up Facebook group pages for Regions across the Air Training Corps. Of the awards, Air Commodore Stewart said:
“Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Ian Stewart said: “I am very proud to see so much excellent work has been done to raise the profile of the cadets and the light blue this year.
“There is no doubt that this is key to our engagement strategy and has showcased some of the finest work undertaken by our cadets and staff over the last 12 months. Congratulations to each winner but also to all of the nominees for their sterling efforts.”
