YOU.Matter Present Recruitment Opportunities to Harris Academy Bromley

Representatives from the YOU.Matter programme were invited to present to pupils at the Harris Academy Bromley on 24th November.
The opportunity arose after the Assistant Head Teacher, Mrs Sharon Blunden saw members of the YOU.Matter Youth Advisory Board present at a Safer Learners (SL) event in early November. There were around 150 guests at the SL event, including 90 year 9 and 10 pupils from local schools.
Safer London Foundation and Cadets from the Air and Sea gave a 15 minute presentation during the morning assembly to nearly 200 students, outlining the opportunities and qualifications available to them through the YOU.Matter programme, as well as insights into what it’s like being a Cadet.
Officer Commanding 1903 (Penge) Squadron, Flight Lieutenant John Wohlgemuth said; “This was a great opportunity for us. We have never been able to get into the school to do a presentation before – despite trying – so it’s thanks to the strength of YOU that we were able to today.”
After the presentations the Air Cadets handed out over 50 leaflets so let’s hope there are some new recruits for Penge!
