Roll on YOU drummers

Members of the YOU London organisations played their part in the spectacular Jack Petchey Foundation Ignite Festival of Youth on Sunday 16th March at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Many who had received its support, came together to help celebrate 15 successful years of  the Jack Petchey Foundations programmes. Air Cadets rolled out the welcome mat to the show’s guests, while others formed an honour guard for guests heading to the auditorium. There among the many talented performances, the Combined YOU London Corps of Drums in the smartest of uniforms performed some fantastic musical pieces including Highland Cathedral.

YOU London coordinator, Michael Nolan said at the event, “It’s been great for YOU London to take part in this celebration. The YOU London Corps of Drums made up of Army Air and Sea Cadets, with Boys Brigade, Scouts and Guides, Volunteer Police Cadets, and St. John Ambulance gave us a spectacular musical performance. An amazing effort for adults and young people considering that they only came together on the day of the event. YOU London is grateful to the volunteer staff and young people who made it happen and to the Jack Petchey Foundation for providing the opportunity.

YOU London is a partnership of ten uniformed youth organisations, working with Youth United and supported by the Mayor of London and the Greater London Reserve Forces and Cadets Assn. Its aim is to maximise the impact and benefit of the organisations to young Londoners.
