We are very proud of our nearly 4000 outstanding Volunteer Police Cadets serving across London, 400 of whom competed in July in the Met police Annual Cadet Competition, held for the first time at Gravesend. It was a fabulous event where teams competed in drill, evidence gathering, CBRN, traffic and crime scenes amongst other activities.
It was a super day at Brunel University Sports Complex with almost a hundred young people taking part in the Hillingdon Youth Summer Games – an opportunity to meet other groups, challenge each other and have some fun. Over seventy of Haringey’s Sea, Army, Air, Marine, and Police Cadets together with Scouts marched proudly from the Scouts Park at Bounds Green to the Civic Centre on Sunday (28th June ), to mark Armed Forces Day and to hear announced which of them was the winner of the annual inter group skills competition. The
Cadets and Youth Organisations in Uniform (YOU) from across London, joined the rest of the nation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of VE Day, the Victory in Europe, and took part in a fun 1945 themed party to mark the occasion. The event, which was organised and hosted by GL RFCA, was held at the
GLRFCA Rep Councillor Nigel Betts of Bexley joined YOU London Co-ordinator Michael Nolan on a visit to the LIFE course being held at Erith Fire Station on 17th March. The course leader had asked YOU London to come and talk to the ten students about the wealth of opportunities offered by the YOU London organisations.
