Uniformed Youth Groups in Croydon Commemorate VJ Day 80
Young people from uniformed youth groups in Croydon have come together in a powerful tribute — forming the letters VJ to mark 80 years since Victory over Japan Day and the ultimate end of the Second World War. Their vibrant colours and united stance represent a spirit of remembrance, resilience and hope for peace; reflecting the message in HM King Charles’ VJ Day 80 address to the nation:
“In times of war and in times of peace, the greatest weapons of all are not the arms you bear but the arms you link”.
As we honour those who served and sacrificed, we also celebrate the next generation who carry forward the values of service and community.
