YOU Leader in cancer charity fund raising bid

Andy Frost, Youth Leader with the Volunteer Police Cadets in Haringey, is raising both money and awareness for leukaemia and lymphoma research charity, ‘BloodWise’. Please read on to find out how YOU can help…

Andy says:

“My wife gave stem cells to a person, then unknown, who was suffering from a very rare form of blood cancer. Eight years on and Steve, her recipient, has made as full a recovery as can be expected. He now has the chance to see his young family grow up and make up for the years he was not able to do the things a father wants to with his family, holidays and just being able to get up and have a meal with them at the table was impossible eight years ago.

My wife and I and our children met Steve in Paris after he had completed the London to Paris cycle ride with the charity ‘BloodWise’ formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, which is no mean feat in itself.

Both my wife, Catherine, and myself have taken the challenge to complete the London to Paris ride this September which means both of us to have to train hard, which we have started and are making great progress in getting fit. We are planning to do various challenges between now and August to help us reach this total.

We have been set a target of £2,500 to raise by August and would like to exceed this if at all possible if you would like to donate please do so on the following link to my just giving page  https://www.justgiving.com/Catherine-Frost5/

If you would like to be put on the donor register then go to the ‘Bloodwise’ website and register with them there. You will be sent out a pack which contains two mouth swabs, so nothing painfull. The more people on the register the greater the chance of a person suffering from Leukaemia & Lymphoma cancer being matched with a donor.”
