RAF Air Cadets

For young people aged 12–19

At the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, we offer a wide range of exciting and rewarding opportunities for both young people and adults, and we're always keen to welcome new members into the organisation.

As a cadet, you'll have the chance to get involved in activities such as flying and gliding, adventure training, fieldcraft, shooting, camps across the UK and overseas, and hands-on STEM experiences. Alongside this, you'll develop valuable life skills including leadership, teamwork, and resilience, while also working towards recognised qualifications that can support your future education and career.

Volunteer with the Air Cadets

For Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, there are equally rewarding opportunities to get involved. Whether you're interested in instructing, mentoring, organising activities, or supporting behind the scenes, you'll play a vital role in delivering these experiences to cadets.

We'll support you in developing your own skills too, with access to leadership training, specialist courses, and qualifications that can benefit you both within the organisation and in your wider career. It's a unique chance to give back to the community, challenge yourself, make life-long friends and be part of something genuinely meaningful. Remember, you do not require previous experience to volunteer.

Since joining the Air Cadets, I've had so much fun – I've even flown a glider!
